Burnaby Mountain Park
Burnaby Mountain Park has many features including Rose Gardens, hiking and walking trails, picnic areas, children's playground and Horizons restaurant. It also encompasses a large natural mountain forest preserved for outdoor recreation, nature interpretation and education - the Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area.
Burnaby Lake Regional Nature Park
The Burnaby Lake Regional Nature Park is a 300-hectare nature park, offering a variety of trails through open marshland and beautiful forest. An interpretive Nature House features educational displays, plus a viewing tower for observing birds, wildlife and a panoramic vista. Burnaby Lake has a rowing course suitable for canoeing, kayaking and rowing training. The Rowing Pavilion has change rooms and a public canoe launch. The park also includes several equestrian trails.
Deer Lake Park
Deer Lake Park is home to the Burnaby Village Museum & Carousel, the Burnaby Art Gallery, Century Gardens, the James Cowan Theatre, and the outdoor Concert Bowl. You'll also find trails that meander around the lake and through meadows and woodlands. There is also a public beach at the west end of the lake.
Other major parklands and waterways in Burnaby include Burnaby Lake, Still Creek, the Brunette River, Central Park, Squint Lake, Robert Burnaby Park, and Kensington Park.
Burnaby Village Museum
At the Burnaby Village Museum, you'll feel like you're in the 1920's! Visitors are welcomed by costumed townsfolk, who also give demonstrations in the homes and shops of a traditional village along the BC Electric Railway tram line. Don't forget to take a whirl on the 1912 CW Parker Carousel and explore the full restored Interurban Tram #1223.
